The column opens with a dispatch from the War Department, in part: "This Department has received intelligence this evening that Gen. Sherman's advance entered Atlanta about noon to-day. The particulars have not yet been received, but telegraphic communication during the night with Atlanta direct is expected." The paper includes further news from Atlanta, as well as reports on the surrender of Fort Morgan, the war in Tennessee, and more. In fine condition, with uncut pages, central vertical and horizontal folds, some corner creasing, a contemporary notation to the top margin, and toning to rear page.
