Pictures for the production of a "full sound revue the title of which is provisionally known as 'The Show of Shows,'" engaging the actor for his services "in rendering the 'Soliloquy of King Richard the Third.'" Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by John Barrymore, and countersigned twice by film executive Jack L. Warner. Stapled into its original blue paper folder. In fine condition, with light wear.
Shot almost entirely in Technicolor, The Show of Shows was Warner Bros.' fifth color film and cost almost $800,000 to produce. It featured most of the contemporary Warner Bros. film stars, including John Barrymore, Richard Barthelmess, Noah Beery Sr., Loretta Young, Dolores Costello, Bull Montana, Myrna Loy, Chester Conklin, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Tully Marshall, Nick Lucas, and Betty Compson.
