Porter relinquishes some of his Can-Can royalties

DS, one page, 8.5 x 11, August 19, 1953. Official letter issued to the Can-Can Company of New York, in part: "I do hereby authorize you to deduct one (1%) per cent (1/100th) of the royalties payable to me in connection with the presentation in the United States only, of all first-class companies presenting the play Can-Can, such sum to be applied by you towards payment to be made to Arthur Lewis who will function as a production supervisor of all first-class companies presenting the play in the United States, in order to keep the production up to its New York opening standard." Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Cole Porter. In very good to fine condition, with some light edge creasing.
