American performer and songwriter (1879–1959) best known for co-writing such standards as the baseball anthem, ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game,’ and ‘Shine On, Harvest Moon.’ ALS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, The Lambs letterhead, December 15, 1939. Handwritten letter to "Sylvia," in part: "Many thank you's for thinking of us but we will be out of town. We will get together sometime soon I hope—we have been down in Texas…In the meantime Merry Xmas." In fine condition, with some old clipping residue at the top edge.
