British military officer and statesman (1850–1916) who served as Victoria's aide-de-camp in Sudan, commanded the British forces during the Boer War, and was appointed secretary of state for war at the outbreak of World War I. Uncommon 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Field Marshal Kitchener in his decorated uniform by Bassano of London, boldly signed across the top in ink, "Kitchener of Khartoum." Mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 10.25 x 12.5. In fine condition.
