Scarce circa 1925 ‘Paavo Nurmi’ commemorative medal. Bronze, 54 gm, 51 mm, with the front featuring a profile portrait of Nurmi in relief with raised text, “Suomi, Paavo Nurmi, Finlande,” and his historic one mile record time below, “4 m, 10.4 s”; and the reverse bears a full-length image of the ‘Flying Finn’ in a running pose, with the right side listing several of Nurmi’s world records in raised text. The medal is stamped "Bronze" on the edge.
