Impressive metal plaque presented to the Great Britain national team, 3 lbs, 5˝ x 7.5˝ x 1.5˝, with the front bearing engraved German text (translated): “Dedicated to our sports friends from the English Olympic team in memory of the House of Duisburg. Duisburg, October 1936, Mayor.” The upper and bottom sections feature embossed text, “XI Olympic Games, Berlin 1936,” and images of the Olympic rings and Brandenburg Gate. The reverse bears a raised overhead map of the “Olympic Village,” with text below, “Friendship and Peace.” In fine condition.
