Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo of President Eisenhower at his desk, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen to a diplomat, "For the Honorable Edward B. Lawson, with best wishes to a distinguished American, Dwight D. Eisenhower.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered stains in the bottom border. A career diplomat, Edward B. Lawson served as ambassador to Iceland (1949–54) and Israel (1954–59), in addition to various trade and economic posts that brought him to Turkey, Nicaragua, Czechoslovakia, and South Africa.
