Rare vintage matte-finish 11.25 x 15.25 bust-length photo of Haile Selassie early into his reign as Emperor of Ethiopia, signed below in ink, with Selassie adding the year “31.” Affixed to a slightly larger cardstock mount and in very good condition, with a small bend to the lower left corner, and foxing and staining affecting appearance, which could likely benefit from the touch of a skilled conservator. Selassie remains scarce across all signed formats, with this oversized portrait representing the largest that we have ever offered.
