Description

Attractive color print by artist Louis Icart, 22 x 25.5, purchased in 1985 for Prince's house on Galpin Boulevard in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The print is of Icart’s 1928 work ‘Parasol,’ which shows a woman seated with a colorful parasol on a concrete bench as she watches several small birds peck at the grapes on her hat. The print, which is affixed to a slightly larger cardstock mount, was displayed in Prince's personal bedroom / sitting area and was gifted to the consignor by Prince's former assistant when the musician redecorated his home after breaking up with his fiancé, Susannah Melvoin. In very good to fine condition, with light warping and edge rippling, scattered light foxing, and a small scratch. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Prince's former assistant, Karen Krattinger.
