Original watercolor painting by illustrator Peter Barrett inspired by Kenneth Grahame's classic children's tale The Wind in the Willows, 9.5 x 7.5, signed and dated in the lower left by the artist, "Peter Barrett, 2019." The scene features Mr. Toad having a fine picnic with friends, Mole and Badger, outside a fancy stagecoach as the sun sets. Handsomely matted and framed to an overall size of 15 x 12. In fine condition.
The artist, Peter Barrett, created illustrations for a 1987 edition of The Wind in the Willows, a 65th Anniversary Edition of Three Little Pigs, and dozens of other animal-themed children's books.
