US Army officer (1807–1891) who served in the Mexican-American War and Seminole Wars, and was also one of the most senior general officers in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Ink signature, "J. E. Johnston," on an off-white 3.5 x 2.25 card. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light scuffing, and mounting remnants on the back. Accompanied by an unsigned carte-de-visite portrait.
