Wonderful AQS on an off-white 7.25 x 5 sheet, signed neatly in fountain pen, “Oliver Wendell Holmes, Boston, January 2d, 1880," who writes the concluding stanza of his 1858 poem 'The Chambered Nautilus,' in full: “Build thee more stately mansions, O my soul, / As the swift seasons roll! / Leave thy low-vaulted past! / Let each new temple, nobler than the last, / Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast, / Till thou at length art free, / Leaving thine outgrown shell by life's unresting sea!” In fine condition.
