ANS signed “Bobby,” penned in ballpoint on a black-bordered 5.25 x 3.75 condolence card issued in memory of his older brother, President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated on November 22, 1963. The handwritten note, in full: “Dear Deeda, My thanks and my love, Bobby.” The printed card reads: “We are deeply touched by your thoughtfulness in letting us know that you share in our sorrow. We are consoled by the knowledge that the love he gave is returned in full measure.” In very fine condition. The recipient is ostensibly fashion icon Catherine ‘Deeda’ (Gerlach) Blair, a former subject of Andy Warhol and the wife of diplomat William McCormick Blair, Jr., whom President John F. Kennedy appointed as the United States Ambassador to Denmark in 1961.
