Exceptionally rare limited edition ‘The Last Sitting’ portfolio containing a suite of 10 color glossy 20 x 24 photo prints of Marilyn Monroe from her photo shoot with photographer Bert Stern in late June 1962, just six weeks before she died. Each chromogenic print is signed in the lower border in black felt tip by Stern and features the edition number, 141/250, to the lower left corner. The prints are individually matted and housed in their original bright orange carrying case, 25.25 x 27.25, which also includes the portfolio’s colophon (unnumbered) and ‘The Last Sitting’ image poster, which includes the titles: ‘Feeling Good,’ 'Playful,’ ‘What's It All About?,’ ‘Flirtatious,’ ‘Teasing,’ ‘I Beg of You,’ ‘Aroused,’ ‘Rhythm,’ ‘Here's to You,’ and ‘Not Bad For 36.’ Produced in 1978 by Shorewood Atelier for Woodbine Books, Inc. In overall fine condition, with some scuffs and wear to the carrying case, and the upper handle snapped off but present. A highly sought-after portfolio that, given its small edition size, is rarely offered for public sale.
