Description

Four items signed by an Apollo moonwalker: Buzz Aldrin (TLS), Charles Conrad (TLS), Charlie Duke (ink signature on a 5 x 3 card), and Jim Irwin (ALS). Sections of the letters are as follows:

Aldrin: Typed letter on a 6.25 x 3.5 card, July 28, 1971, sent to Mrs. Helper, in part: “Your interest in my part of our country’s space program is deeply appreciated. However, in fairness to the many collectors who make requests similar to yours, I have had to set a policy of signing not more than one item for any individual.”

Conrad: Typed letter on 8 x 10.5 NASA letterhead, January 5, 1970, sent to Dr. E. M. Brown a month-and-a-half after the Apollo 12 mission, in part: “Many thanks for your thoughtfulness in sharing the three sheets of stamps with us. As each of us is a stamp collector, Dick, Al and I are most grateful for your generosity.”

Irwin: Handwritten letter on personal 8.5 x 11 illustrated High Flight Foundation letterhead, February 4, 1989, sent to Rick Boos, in part: “Thanks for your letter, launch cover, and ‘On Course to the Stars.’ I am glad that you can encourage and help the Chaffees…The next month promises to be very busy because we are scheduled to visit every country in Central America including Nicaragua.” Includes the original mailing envelope. In overall fine condition.
