Addressed from her apartment at 71 Park Avenue in New York City, a handwritten letter to Mr. Bush, in full: “I have had so many letters this fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn when General Custer fell that I have to take them a few at a time. I hope to express my thanks for the sympathy for me and for the appreciation of what a soldier General Custer was. This year, the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn — has been full of evidence of loyalty to my husband. There were fifty thousand people at the anniversary of the battle June 25th. I thank you for your good wishes and I hope your loyalty to my husband’s memory will be unfailing.” In very good to fine condition, with irregular toning, and a couple of small areas of edge paper loss.
