ALS in French, signed at the head of the first page, “J. P. Sartre,” six pages both sides, 6 x 7.75, annotated July 21, 1937. Lengthy untranslated letter to French theatre actress Wanda Kosakiewicz. In fine condition. Accompanied by an export certificate from the French Ministry of Culture. Kosakiewicz was a love interest of Sartre and the younger sister of Olga Kosakiewicz, a student of the existentialist philosopher and writer Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre's lifelong companion. Sartre wrote that Wanda was one of the reasons that his friendship with Albert Camus went sour.
