Official document from Elizabeth the Second, who approves the appointment of Fred Clarke as “Honorary Consul at Birmingham.” Signed in the upper right corner in bold fountain pen by the Queen Mother and in black ink by Princess Margaret; their signatures are appropriately penned adjacent to the typed caption, “Signed on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.” Countersigned at the bottom by former Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home, who was then serving as the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary. The upper left corner bears the embossed seal of Elizabeth II. In very good to fine condition, with Margaret's signature extremely faded, but still fully legible.
