ALS from John Lennon’s aunt, Mimi Smith, one page, 8 x 7.25, postmarked in Liverpool on November 1, 1964. A handwritten letter to a Beatles fan in the USA: “Dear Barbara. Thank you for your letter. Stamps + Post Cards. It is very kind of you. I don’t know what magazines print about The Beatles, or me. John has always loved animals, we have always had cats, & he always asks about them when he phones. I have also heard at different times that I don’t believe in God + that includes John, he does believe. It is a deliberate lie. I do believe in God & I wish I could meet these people who print these stories. Yes all the Beatles (except Ringo) used to practice here. They were all here last week and just the same as ever.” In fine condition, with irregular light toning. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by the original hand-addressed mailing envelope.
