Description

Extremely rare EMI Records press release announcing that the Beatles have resigned with EMI Records in early 1967, one page, 8 x 13, dated February 6, 1967. The press release, headed “Beatles Re-Sign with E.M.I. Records,” in part: “The new contract—for nine years—was signed at E.M.I. House in London by Sir Joseph Lockwood, Chairman of E.M.I. Ltd., and Beatles manager Brian Epstein. E.M.I. released the first Beatles' record ‘Love me do’ — in October, 1962. It sold 100,000 copies. The Gold Discs for their several one-million-plus sellers and the world-wide honours that followed have, in turn, led to a total WORLD sales figure which stands currently at over 180,000,000 (in converted 'single' units, an LP being equivalent to six ‘singles' and an EP to two). The announcement of the re-signing follows closely the news that the Beatles' first record in 1967 — ‘Penny Lane’ and ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ is to be released on E.M.I's Parlophone label on Friday, February 17.” In fine condition, with some faint toning. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
