British peer and politician (1851–1917) who served as Governor General of Canada from 1904 to 1911. TLS signed “Grey,” one page, 8 x 10, Government House, Ottawa letterhead, December 26, 1906. Letter to Sir Alfred Fripp, in part: "Many thanks to you for your kind Xmas and New Year wishes, which Lady Grey and I heartily reciprocate. Lady Drummond encouraged me to hope the other day that there was a possibility of your paying a visit to Canada. I hope this may be true and that we may look forward to seeing you." In very good to fine condition, with some light creasing to the top edge.
