Financial document related to a transaction with a fellow founder, in part: "Rec'd…of Robert Morris Esqr. five hundred & nine Dollars & twenty five Cents on account of money—arising from my share of the sales &c of Lands in the new Patents in Orange County." Inlaid into a slightly larger sheet. In very fine condition, with show-through from docketing on reverse. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "MINT 9." A fantastic, boldly signed document that dates Jay's tenure as the first chief justice of the United States.
