Free franked envelope panel, 5 x 4.75, addressed in the hand of John Marshall's to "His Excellency, Governor Monroe, Richmond, Virginia," and franked in the upper right, "J. Marshall." Stamped “FREE” and postmarked at Philadelphia on April 7 [1800]. In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "MINT 9."
