Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 18 x 11.5, March 6, 1866. President Johnson appoints George F. Marlow, Jr., as "Deputy Postmaster at Selma, in the State of Alabama." Signed at the conclusion by President Andrew Johnson, and countersigned by Secretary of State William H. Seward. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In very good to fine condition, with multiple folds, staining to the seal, and light show-through from old scotch tape repairs on the reverse.
