Echols as "Professor of Mathematics at the Military Academy, in the service of the United States." Boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by President Theodore Roosevelt, and countersigned by Secretary of War William Howard Taft. Impressively cloth-matted and framed with portraits and biographical captions to an overall size of 45 x 32. In fine condition. A graduate of West Point, Charles P. Echols served with a battalion of engineers at Willets Point, New York, before becoming a math instructor at the United States Military Academy. An unusual, highly desirable presidential document.
