Benjamin Rush writes a receipt for "medicines & attendance administered"

Signer of the Declaration of Independence and surgeon general of the Continental Army (1746–1813). ADS signed "Benj'n Rush," one page, 8 x 4.25, February 9, 1789. Handwritten receipt, in full: "Rec'd Feb'y9th 1789 of Mr. Sam'l Wallis full compensation for medicines & attendance administered to his family to this day." Beautifully cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and biographical caption to an overall size of 30.25 x 28.5. In fine condition. A desirable document pertaining to Rush's noble vocation as a physician.
