Major general in the Continental Army (1733-1810) during the American Revolutionary War, known as the officer who formally accepted the British surrender at Yorktown. Partly-printed DS, signed “B. Lincoln,” one page, 9.5 x 4.75, November 7, 1805. As collector of the Port of Salem, Benjamin Lincoln certifies an import of "Sixty three gallons" of wine. Signed at the conclusion by Lincoln as collector, and countersigned by an inspector. Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait, map, and biographical caption to an overall size of 27 x 24.25. In fine condition.
