Description

Financier and banker (1837-1913) remembered for dominating corporate finance on Wall Street throughout the Gilded Age as head of the banking firm now known as J.P. Morgan & Co. Partly-printed DS, signed on the reverse by J. P. Morgan as “Drexel, Morgan & Co.,” one page, 16.5 x 8.75, August 1, 1888. A bond certificate issued by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company to Kuhn, Loeb and Company and Drexel, Morgan and Company for "Twenty Five of its First Mortgage Extension and Collateral Bonds." Endorsed on the reverse by J. P. Morgan as "Drexel, Morgan & Co." Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 34.5 x 25.25. In fine condition.
