Scarce commemorative cover with a cachet honoring the canceled Apollo 13 lunar landing, postmarked at Cape Canaveral on the disaster date of April 14, 1970, signed in blue ballpoint by Jack Swigert. In very fine condition. One of the Apollo 13 Service Module's oxygen tanks ruptured at 55:54:53 (03:08 UTC on April 14, 10:08 PM EST, April 13). Swigert reported 26 seconds later, 'Okay, Houston, we've had a problem here,' then echoed Lovell, 'Houston, we've had a problem. We've had a Main B Bus undervolt.' After a harrowing swing around the moon, using the Lunar Module as an improvised lifeboat, the crew safely splashed down in the South Pacific on April 17th.
