Interesting pairing of signed items, both inscribed to the right-handed pitcher Milt Pappas: a color satin-finish 8 x 10 full-length photo of Reagan as president, signed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "Ronald Reagan," with a calligraphic inscription above, "To Milt Pappas, With appreciation for your support"; and an ANS by Vice President George Bush, penned on a 6.25 x 4.25 stationery card embossed with the vice presidential seals, January 31, 1985, in full: "Dear Milt, The President signed this today at our lunch. All the best to you—George Bush." In overall very good to fine condition, with toning to both items from prior display, some fading to Reagan's signature, and a stain touching one word of text on the Bush note.
Milt Pappas (1939–2016) was a right-handed pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, and Chicago Cubs. He compiled a career record of 209-164, pitched 43 shutouts, threw one no-hitter, and made three All-Star teams.
