Description

TLS as president signed “RN,” one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, March 26, 1971. Letter to May and Justin Miller, in part: “Your continuing support and approval mean a great deal to me, and I am deeply grateful for your thoughtful telegram regarding my March 4 press conference. Such generous comments from long-time friends are particularly meaningful.” In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original White House mailing envelope.

Nixon thanked his former law professor for his support on comments made in the March 4th press conference about the Vietnam War. Justin Miller (1888-1973) was a lawyer, college dean, and federal judge. He was an attorney in the private sector and for public agencies in California. He was a professor at several universities and law dean at University of Southern California before serving from 1930 to 1934 as dean of Duke University School of Law in North Carolina, where Nixon was a student.
