Mexican general and politician (1794–1876) best known in the US for his role in the Mexican-American War and the slaughter of scores of Americans at the Alamo. Partly-printed DS in Spanish, signed “A. L. de Sta. Anna,” one page, 22 x 16.75, January 30, 1855. An untranslated military appointment signed at the bottom of the first page by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna as president of Mexico. The balance of the document contains signatures from various other officials. Matted and framed to an overall size of 30 x 25. In very good to fine condition, with multiple vertical folds, and an old tape repair to a fold split on the adjoining page.
