(Walt Disney Studios, 2013) Ultra rare original limited edition cel entitled ‘Alice in Wonderland – Cheshire Cat,” numbered AP3/15, released as part of The Golden Age of Animation Series. The hand-painted cel, which shows the Cheshire Cat flashing a broad smile in a bright full-length pose, was created using original production materials provided by the Disney Animation Research Library from Disney’s 1951 feature film Alice in Wonderland as reference; this image comes from Sequence 2069, Scene 7.5 of the film. The cel is placed on a matching giclee background printed on premium quality acid-free paper using archival inks by Acme Archives Limited. The cel image measures 7 x 4.75, with overall dimensions of 19 x 13. The lower left corner bears a golden ‘Disney Hand Painted’ seal. The cel includes its matching giclee production drawing of the same pose, numbered AP3/15, with ‘Disney Studio Art Collection’ marked in the lower left corner. In fine condition, with trivial edgewear to background. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from The Walt Disney Company.
