Description

Rare production cel of Snow White as a scullery maid

(Walt Disney Studios, 1937) Original production cel featuring Snow White and a pair of birds from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, depicting the original Disney princess wearing her tattered dress in a wonderful full-length pose. The cel has been trimmed and applied to an airbrushed background as prepared by the Disney Studio to be sold at the Courvoisier Galleries. Image of Snow White and the birds measures 5.25 x 7.75, with a mat opening of 6.5 x 10. Replacement mat dimensions are 13.5 x 17.75. The piece has the original Disney Courvoisier Galleries label affixed to the reverse of the backing. In fine condition, with some mild rippling. Cels of Snow White in her tattered rags are quite rare, as she wore them for only a short time at the beginning of the film. It was while she was dressed in these rags that she sang 'I'm Wishing,' and had her first encounter with the prince.
