The successor to the second generation iPhone 3G, the Apple iPhone 3GS was unveiled as the company’s flagship smartphone on June 8, 2009, at the WWDC 2009, which took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Released between June and August of the same year, the 3GS featured improved performance, a 3-megapixel camera with higher resolution and video ability, voice control, and support for 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA downloading.
