Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 21 x 15.75, May 28, 1915. President Wilson appoints Meade Wildrick as "First Lieutenant in the Coast Artillery Corps in the service of the United States." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by President Woodrow Wilson, and countersigned by Secretary of War Lindley M. Garrison. The blue seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition. A 1910 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Meade Wildrick was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Coast Artillery Corps and promoted to colonel while serving during World War I. He helped to organize the first American Legion Post in Paris, France, and retired from military service in 1936.
