Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 21 x 16, August 3, 1899. President McKinley appoints John P. Hasson as "Second Lieutenant in the Thirty-fifth Regiment of Infantry, United States Volunteers." Crisply signed at the conclusion in ink by President William McKinley, and countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root. The blue seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In very good to fine condition, with light edge creasing, some faint toning, and a small stain above the signature.
