ALS in French, signed “Lafayette,” one page, 7.25 x 8.75, December 22, 1822. Addressed from “La grange,” a handwritten letter to a female acquaintance, in part (loosely translated): “I read with keen interest the exposed memoirs of the Marquis d'Argenton, and the introduction of Mr. Tracy Rene my own had already spoken with a lot of praise. I see nothing new about my absent friend...It's Fri the 12th or 15th of the next but I would have the good fortune to see you again in Paris.” In fine condition, with a stain to the upper right corner tip.
