Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany, Irish writer and dramatist (1878-1957) notable for his work, mostly in fantasy, published under the name Lord Dunsany. Two letters: an ALS signed "Dunsany," four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, Dunsany Castle letterhead, no date, in part: "I do not know when those green gods will horribly waddle on the Haymarket stage...I want the audience to fancy a draught from some door and then to find that the passing chill is only fear—as a matter of fact I dare say they'll laugh or demand their money back"; and an ANS signed "Dunsany," one page, 7 x 4.5, Cadogan Square letterhead, April 3, 1932, in part: "Sorry I've no photograph with me in this house, but here's my autograph. Thank you for your letter." In fine condition, with a thin edge stain to the shorter note.
