Uncommon original etching prepared by Sigmund Abeles for the Limited Editions Club edition of Stephen Crane's Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, 9.5 x 12.5, signed in the lower border in pencil by the artist, "Abeles." In fine condition, with an inch-long tear to the blank right margin. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a transmittal letter from the directors of the Limited Editions Club, in part: "We are happy to send you an original etching by Sigmund Abeles, signed by the artist. This is the portrait of Maggie that was reproduced for the frontispiece of our edition of the Stephen Crane novel, Maggie: A Girl of the Streets."
