Description

Politician and planter (1830–1864) who became a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army; wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg and again during the Confederate defeat at the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain, he died just 12 days after his arm was amputated by Union Army surgeons. Unsigned 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite portrait of Albert G. Jenkins in uniform, published by E. & H. T. Anthony of New York. In fine condition, with slightly irregular mottled toning.
