Description

Two maps originally issued in early works on Napoleon Bonaparte: a hand-colored 5 x 8.25 map entitled "Battles of Waterloo and Ligny, fought 16th & 18th June 1815," taken from the edition of Memoirs of the Public and Private Life of Napoleon Bonaparte published in London by George Virtue in 1827; and a 17.5 x 11.5 map entitled "Map explanatory of several chapters of the Campaign of Italy, dictated by Napoleon and introduced in the Journal of Count Las Cases," taken from the edition of the Memorial de Sainte Helene: Journal of the Private Life and Conversations of the Emperor Napoleon at Saint Helena published in Boston by Wells and Lilly in 1823. In overall fine condition, with the Campaign of Italy map folded as issued, and exhibiting some tears to the margins and offsetting to ink.
