From the personal collection of Brazilian football (soccer) legend Pele: an attractive Portuguese-language hand-painted diploma from the “Federative Republic of Brazil, State of Parana, Municipality of Curitiba,” conferring Pele as an honorary citizen of Curitiba. Dated April 26, 2006, the illuminated diploma, 12 x 17, features a hand-drawn scroll with the colorful emblem of Curitiba at the top and manuscript text to the body, which reads, in part (translated): "The Municipal Public Powers of Curitiba...confer upon the Honorable Lord Edson Arantes do Nascimento - Pele, the Title of Honorary Citizen of Curitiba, for which they have issued this Diploma." Signed at the conclusion by three city officials. In fine condition.
