American humorist, author, and screenwriter (1904-1979) best known for his humorous short pieces written for The New Yorker. World War II-dated DS, one page both sides, 8.5 x 13, February 9, 1942. Contract between Gregory Ratoff Productions and S. J. and Laura Perelman, with the latter party agreeing to “write, compose and prepare and to collaborate with and assist others in the writing, composition and preparation of original stories, adaptations, treatments, continuities, dialogue scripts, and screenplays suitable for use in the production of motion picture photoplays,” for a total sum of $1000 per week. Signed at the conclusion in ink by both of the Perelmans. In fine condition, with short splits to the fold ends.
