Manuscript DS, one page, 23.25 x 15.25, June 27, 1799. Indenture between John Nixon, Josiah Hewes, and William Smith of Philadelphia and Samuel Clothier ‘of the Northern Liberties of the City of Philadelphia Ship-Wright,’ with the former part selling to the latter “two certain contiguous Lots of Pieces of Ground” containing one hundred and forty-two acres and nine perches for the sum of $199. Signed twice at the conclusion by Nixon and countersigned by his business partners. The bottom portion retains its original red wax seals. Mounted and framed to an overall size of 29 x 21. In fine condition.
