Royal Christmas and New Year's card from 1952, with a gilt-embossed crown on the front, measuring 13.5 x 8.5 open, featuring a charming photo of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip posing with their two young children in front of Balmoral Castle, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to Prince Philip's sister, Sophie of Greece and Denmark (Tiny), and her husband George, "Tiny, George, and the family, and love from, Lilibet" and "Philip." In very good to fine condition, with moderate soiling to the outside of the card.
A desirable Christmas card that dates to the first of Queen Elizabeth's seven-decade-long reign, which also features an especially interesting signature from the queen, as she only ever signs with her nickname, "Lilibet," for very close friends and family. She was given the nickname as a young child, and it is essentially only her immediate family members who are permitted to use it.
