Original vintage circa 1950s Kyle Rote New York Giants football jersey, evidently game used based on wear, stains, style, and quality; the consignor notes that it originates from the estate of an athletic trainer who worked with several professional football players. The classic blue jersey features sewn-on white "44" patches on the front, and features an old-school button crotch. Mounted and framed with a page from a program showing the Giants' roster to an overall size of 25 x 37. In very good condition, with expected staining and wear to the jersey, and some fraying evident to the seam at the right arm.
The New York Giants selected All-American Kyle Rote first overall in the 1951 NFL Draft, and he became their star running back and wide receiver. Throughout his eleven-year career, Rote made four Pro Bowls and won one NFL championship. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, he was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1950.
