Three items: a glossy 5 x 7 photo of Combs in his New York Yankees uniform, signed in blue ballpoint, "Earle Combs"; an ALS signed "Earle Combs," one page, 8.5 x 11, February 16, 1970, in part: "Thank you so much for your letter of Congratulations, on my being elected to Baseball Hall of Fame. It came as a complete surprise to me, one reason I got such a Thrill out of it I suppose. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect this High Honor to come my way...I really did try hard to give the fans their money's worth. In looking back over my baseball career, I can't think of a time I didn't give each and every play my very best"; and an ALS signed "Earle," one page, 8.5 x 11, Earle B. Combs Recognition Dinner letterhead, March 12, 1970, in part: "Am sending along the picture I promised...You can see by this letter head. The people of Richmond gave me a Big dinner since I was elected to the Hall of Fame, of course I have been in Space since all this happened." In overall very good to fine condition, with spotty irregularity to the photo's emulsion. Accompanied by one original mailing envelope, addressed in Combs's hand.
