TLS as president signed “RN,” one page, 6.75 x 9, White House letterhead, December 30, 1972. Letter to Theodore E. Cummings, in full: "As I look back to the results of November 7, I want you to know how deeply grateful I am for all that you did to help us win one of the greatest landslide victories in American political history. Only with your help were we able to get our message across to the millions of voters who supported us. I can assure you that over the next four years I shall do everything I possibly can to make a record which all Americans, regardless of party, will be proud of as we celebrate America's 200th Birthday in 1976." In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA. President Nixon's closing line offers an interesting and seemingly sincere patriotic promise, but one which ultimately went unfulfilled—by the time of America's bicentennial celebration, Nixon had been forced to resign in disgrace and Gerald Ford was serving as president.
